Hello Cub Scouts and Families! Hope you’re enjoying the Fall season!
We have another fun-filled Pack Meeting coming up on Friday October 21st at 7pm at the Richfield UCC. Cub Scouts can wear their “Class B Uniform” (Yellow “Run With The Pack” T-shirts). After our meeting around 8pm or so, for those interested, we are off to Camp Butler for the “kid-friendly” Haunted Hayride. Families/siblings are welcome. If you are going to the Hayride afterwards, dress appropriate for the weather. Please let Dennis Gentner know no later than October 19th if you want to purchase $6 presale tickets (Please keep in mind these are non-refundable tickets). Payment can be made payable to Pack 3387 and those tickets will be handed out at the October Pack meeting.
With our popcorn fundraising drive ending October 29th, the Pack meeting would be a good time to turn in your Popcorn orders. At the meeting, please bring completed popcorn forms and money collected to Tom Orcutt, our Pack treasurer. If providing a check (preferable), they should be made payable to “Pack 3387”. Also, please bring your cub scout’s popcorn prize selections if applicable which are found on the Great Trail Council mailer. There are prizes available for various increments starting at $100. And don’t forget all the fund prizes available to Cubs selling $600 or more. That includes the “Zyclone”! For those turning in their orders at October’s Pack meeting, there will be a drawing held at the end of that meeting. For each $100 sold, he can drop a ticket in the container for a drawing for a “Zyclone” along with a couple other prizes. At our November Pack meeting, our final three top sellers will receive bragging rights and get to choose a “Cub Scout Leader” of choice to receive a personally delivered “Pie-In-The-Face”!
If you would like the opportunity to sell popcorn at an event, we have Show and Sell popcorn available. We also have permission to sell popcorn beginning Oct. 16th at the Giant Eagle in Richfield. Please see Don Kostar (Cubmaster@pack3387.org) for some of the Show and Sell product inventory or for more information.
On Saturday October 29th, we have our Goodwill Good Turn Day at the Richfield UCC from 9am-12pm. We will have a trailer there and collecting donated items such as clothing, household items, toys/games, small appliances, etc. to provide to a local Goodwill center. The Cub Scouts could donate items, or also help load the truck and earn a patch. You can also turn in Popcorn orders and money collected during this time as well.
One of our highlights of the year, our annual Fall Campout at Camp Manatoc, is just a month away. We highly recommend everyone attending if they can. It starts 11:30am on Sat. November 5th until Nov. 6th 11am. Activities will include Archery, BB’s, Rockets, Scavenger Hunt, Hiking, Campfire and a flag retirement. The cost will be $10 each. Mom’s are welcome too with special accommodations. If you could respond to this message and email firstname.lastname@example.org to begin sign-up. We have forms available for registering and to mention if you have any dietary needs. Please obtain a healthcare form required for this campout if you have never completed it or if the one we have on file is expired (over a year old). Check with Dennis Gentner if you would like to confirm the status of that form. At the October Pack meeting we will also go over the upcoming Pack Campout. It would be helpful if you have your Health & Medical form completed ahead of time as well.
2 LITER BOTTLES – Once again, we’ll make rockets at the campout and will be in need of 2 liter bottles. Please let us know if you can provide us with any bottles. Also for helping lead activities at our future Fall Campouts, if there are any adults interested in becoming trained in shooting sports (archery/BB’s), please let me know and we can make arrangements for the appropriate District training.
